The situation

Customers slipping away to a competitor

Sabine runs Kowalski Coffee Store and did not have her own website. Her customers found her via Google Maps and Instagram. What she did not know: her Google Business Profile had automatically linked to a website from another business with the same name. That website was not hers.

In the preceding months, 400 people had already clicked that link and been redirected to a competitor without Sabine knowing anything about it.

What I did

Fixed in one day

  1. 1

    Profile reviewed

I took a close look at her Google Business Profile and found that the linked website was not hers. I also saw that hundreds of clicks had already gone to that wrong site.

  2. 2

    Website link corrected

Because Sabine does not have her own website, I redirected the website button to her Instagram. That is where she appears herself, with her own photos and opening hours.

  3. 3

    Result the same day

From that point on, visitors who click on her Google profile land directly on her own channel. No more customers accidentally ending up at a competitor.

In her own words
"Happy with the fast, reliable service!"
